Oakland Public Library is inviting the community to celebrate Juneteenth with music, storytelling, and hands-on cultural activities for all ages. 

Kalimba King Carl L. Winters will perform music from across the African diaspora using 15 traditional African thumb pianos called kalimbas. Families can listen to gospel, jazz, blues, R&B, and original songs while learning about the history and cultural traditions connected to the music. Children and caregivers will also have a chance to try playing the kalimba during the interactive performance.
