Oakland – Lunar New Year Lion Dancing

The César E. Chávez Branch Library invites families to a cultural performance to welcome the Lunar New Year with luck and prosperity.

The Cal VSA Lion Dance team from UC Berkeley will perform a traditional blend of martial arts, acrobatics, and dance starting promptly at 1PM. Families can observe the traditionally-crafted lions and learn about the history of this performance art in a festive community setting.
