Description: Building Hope/Construyendo Esperanza is a program of Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services that began in 2000. Building Hope is a prevention and early intervention program for children ages 0-8 and their families. Building Hope provides on-site mental health consultation, developmental guidance and direct mental health services to children and families in early care and education (child care) programs. Mental health consultation, program consultation and training are provided to child care staff and administration. Building Hope also provides home-based and clinic-based child-parent psychotherapy and family therapy. Services focus on behavioral, social-emotional, attachment, and/or developmental concerns that parents and caregivers have in their relationship with their young children. Case management, advocacy, and referral services are also provided to the children and families Building Hope serves. In addition, Building Hope offers Family Partner involvement. Description: Circle of Care - East Bay Agency for Children assists children and families who are coping with grief after the death of a loved one. Free or low cost peer support groups and resilient parenting groups are offered for these families. We are one of the very few programs in the country devoted exclusively to the needs of children and families who are experiencing illness or death of a loved one. Fees are set on a moderate sliding scale, and no one is turned away for inability to pay. Families referred to Circle of Care should call directly (510) 531-7551 x3195. We will conduct a short telephone intake when they call and connect them with appropriate services and or referrals.

Description: Davis Street’s goal is to support the entire family unit. The Family Services Program provides assistance to families in securing their basic needs. The services provided by the Family Services Program include food distribution, clothing giveaways, and housing resources. The food and clothing programs serve the Eden Area, which include San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Cherryland, and Ashland. The certification process for both food and clothing is one in the same and is based on income eligibility. In regards to housing resources, there is a binder at Davis Street’s front desk which contains information on available housing opportunities. The binder is updated monthly.
